Goodreads Synopsis:

It's hard enough being an undergraduate student, an intern at Downtown Manhattan's police station, and a bounce at a local bar. Add her now ex-boyfriend who recently dumped her for the school's resident bimbo- oh, and she's a werewolf.

Mackenzie Grey meets her match when she is kidnapped by the Brooklyn Pack and tossed between Sebastian and Jonah - the Alpha and the Beta. Being a lone-wolf in the city is dangerous and now that the Pack has found her, so can every supernatural being in the Tri-State area. And not even her sarcastic, smart mouth can get her out of this.

When a string of kidnappings involve Mackenzie in supernatural politics, she questions her new acquaintances and finds unlikely allies. Can she escape Pack law and keep her freedom- or will she be condemned to an unwanted path.

Book Review:
Pre-reading Thoughts:

I have been in the mood for a good werewolf book for a while now and I wasn't in the mood to go scouring the Wattpad platform for a relatively good werewolf book that I haven't read just yet. I am excited for the book and I am going into this blind just because I tend to enjoy books more that way. Please note that I have received this book through Xpresso Book Tours as part of their review opportunity options. In no way has receiving this book affected my opinion. All thoughts are my own.

Writing Thoughts:

The author writes much like how young adults talk these days. Full of sarcasm and swear words. I quite enjoyed the writing mainly because it helped me to connect to the main character on those to characteristics. This style of writing will definitely not be for everyone and if I am honest, there were times where it become too much. It is clear that the author is still trying the waters in terms of what style of writing she wants to stick to.

Plot Thoughts:

This book had a flimsy plot. Things didn't quite make senses, meaning, that the plot and what the characters would say would just not match up and would constantly contradict one another. And whilst I could sit here for hours nit picking the flaws, I have decided not to.

Instead, I want to talk about what I really enjoyed and what made me give this book four stars.

This book was damn interesting. One moment we find ourselves in a typical university situation and then next our main character has been kidnapped and taken to a warehouse in the a strange place. There was never a dull moment in this book and I couldn't help but smile at some moments. This book really is a diamond in the rough. It has so much going for it and frankly, I can't wait to see what crazy thing Mackenzie does next.

Character Thoughts:

Oh my gosh. These characters are just bae. They were funny and sarcastic and obviously attractive as hell. I loved reading about their quirks and charms. They are an amazing bunch and I cannot wait to see what they have in store for us readers next.

Final Thoughts:

This book was great. It made me really like the world and it felt good to just read one of these cheesy books that make you fall in love with reading in the first place. I am so grateful that Xpresso Book Tours sent me this book. I cannot wait to see more from this story and this author. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I found that I was unable to out the book down and I hope the rest of the series does the same.

Yours in Reading,

Melleny
